About the event
We all love our waters – they are what make Our Place so special!
Nearly half of Essex County is made up of waters – large and small – rivers, saltmarshes, streams, lakes, ponds, and wetlands. Our waters are not just beautiful, they quietly take care of us every single day by filtering pollution, nurturing wildlife, buffering storms, and protecting our coast.
This Café invites us to celebrate our wetlands and explore why they matter. We’ll look at Massachusetts’ bold goal to protect 100,000 additional acres of critical land and water by 2030.
We’ll also discuss the proposed EPA wetlands rule, now open for public comment until January 5th, which will make our challenge much more difficult. (E.P.A. Rule Would Drastically Curb Protections for Wetlands)
If you want to make a difference, join us on December 14th.
